Historical Notes

Felix Gantier may have been a pseudonym of Charles William Glover (1806-63), who was the violinist at Drury Lane and Covent Garden Theatres and Musical Director of the Queens Theatre London. He wrote the noted song, the Rose of Tralee (1850) and was hugely popular in America as well as Britain during this period. http://www.biblio.com/bookstore/olde-musick-cokery-books/piano-illustrated-covers-page-1~98ff~4435a http://musick-cokerybooks.com/lists/page002235.htm
