One of four "Penny Ballads" by H. De Marsaan. Border is the Clown. Dates from between 1850 and 1865. Lament of a soldier who goes off to war and returns to find his love dead of sorrow at his departing. Printed on one side of very light-weight paper with a blank back for sale or posting. Acted as advertisement for the printer and retail music store.
